Background:
LAMDA has been fuelling the dramatic arts in the UK and beyond for over 150 years, teaching and nurturing talent in all aspects of theatre. A registered charity, it raises funds through various initiatives and needs highly skilled individuals to lead its campaigns. Having recently come to the end of a capital campaign, LAMDA was beginning the complex recruitment process for a new Development Director and needed interim cover until a permanent candidate was secured.
 

Brief:
Having successfully worked with LAMDA to recruit an interim director in similar circumstances before, we were asked to source a candidate with the experience and competence to quickly take the reins and manage the staff through wrapping up the capital campaign and the transition while waiting for the recruitment of a new Development Director.

Process:
LAMDA needed a swift interim solution so we drew on our network and personal acquaintance with numerous potential candidates to put forward a shortlist from which one person was selected.

Outcomes:
From the candidates we put forward on both occasions, LAMDA were able to select one who could successfully step in and keep a steady hand on the tiller, giving LAMDA the time they needed to carry out a thorough recruitment process for a new full-time Development Director.
