Grants of £50,000 available for church conservation projects

The National Churches Trust (NCT) Cornerstone Grants programme provides grants of between £10,000 and £50,000 to help fund urgent structural repairs and modernisation work.

This is the first grant of the NCT’s new grants programme, part of its new strategy for 2019-2023. The main intention is to support projects costed at more than £100,000 including VAT, which can demonstrate that they preserve heritage, promoting sustainability and inspiring support.. However, lower value projects (in excess of £30,000 including VAT) that introduce kitchens and accessible toilets to enable increased community use, will also be considered.

Applicants should have already raised 50% of the total project cost.

Closing date for applications is Monday 4th November and decisions will be made next March.

There will be further opportunities to apply with deadlines in March and July 2020.
