Windrush Day grants of up to £25,000

The Government has set up a Windrush Day Grant Scheme, with a fund worth £500,000, to support organisations in celebrating and educating their community about the arrival of the MV Empire Windrush and the contribution of the Windrush Generation to British economic, social and cultural life.

The Windrush docked at Tilbury on 21 June 1948. The ship and its Caribbean passengers came to symbolise the first movement of post-war mass migration to the UK.

The funding is available to support people of different ages and backgrounds across the country. The minimum grant will be £2,500 and the maximum £25,000. Bidders are encouraged to demonstrate additional sources of funding as part of their proposal.

Deadline for applications is 8th December 2019
