Leeds community fund invites applications

Charities in the North of England can apply for a share of a £100,000 fund pot from a partnership of Northern Gas Networks (NGN), Northern Powergrid and Leeds Community Foundation.

The Community Partnering Fund is looking for projects that assist with the hardship associated with fuel poverty, promote knowledge of energy efficiency, inform the public about home safety, encourage interest in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects or promote the free Priority Services Register, which supports energy customers in vulnerable situations.

Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 will be awarded in the first phase, from a pot of £50,000. The second phase of the programme is scheduled for early next year.

The closing date for applications is Tuesday 15 October.
