I am a non-profit leader, former CEO, fundraiser and strategist with over 26 years’ experience helping organisations grow income, strengthen their foundations and increase impact.
Esther Hamilton
I work with charities, NGOs and mission-driven organisations that want to build strong, sustainable funding and the internal systems needed to deliver real, lasting change.
My background began in post-war Kosovo, where I worked on rebuilding and development programmes. That experience shaped my lifelong focus on supporting organisations tackling complex social challenges and helping them turn vision into structured, fundable, and scalable action.
Over the years, I have led teams and projects across grassroots organisations and international NGOs, bringing clarity, structure and practical direction to complex work. I specialise in helping leaders move from overwhelm and fragmented activity into clear strategy, strong governance, and confident delivery.
My expertise includes fundraising strategy, trusts and statutory funding, business planning, organisational development, governance, service design, evaluation, and support for public sector commissioning and tenders. I’ve secured significant funding, including a £6.7 million UK Government grant for Doctors of the World UK, and have helped organisations raise up to £8 million in a single year across government, trusts, lotteries, corporates and major donors.
I also support organisations working within local authority commissioning environments, helping them position themselves effectively, strengthen bids, and build long-term income resilience.
My work spans international development, health, disability, education, advocacy, women’s rights and community development. I support organisations in shaping strategy, developing theories of change, strengthening governance, and navigating organisational change with confidence and clarity.
I work in English, French, Spanish, Albanian and Italian, with basic Arabic.
